Roald amundsen was the first to do many things including sailing the Northwest Passage after that he was also the first to travel to the South Pole then after many unsuccessful try's he finally got to the north pole by making a transarctic flight from Europe to America and stoped at the north pole. He was the first to reach both the South and the North Poles.
